3 years ago I had no idea what OT was and now I can't believe that I even doubted its impact. I feel so lucky that we found you 3 years ago. I remember crying when you shared your evaluation of L, feeling like you were the first person who really saw my whole child, his strengths and his struggles. In the 3 years L has never once complained or tried to get out of going to OT, it is really one of his favorite places to go. You and your team have created a space where he is willing to try new things even if they are hard and he knows he might not succeed. He trusts you, Jenna, and Sophie and he knows that when he is pushed and encouraged outside of his comfort zone it's so he can grow. I am amazed every day that this is the same child who barely spoke, struggled to hold a crayon, and had a hard time staying in the swing when we first came to see you. His growth has so much to do with the work of your team.

Erin, I just had a chance to read through the entire report which was excellent. Thank you so much for the detail and thoughtful explanation of every area. wow. As I mentioned over phone, no one in S’s 9 years, has ever quite explained the issues like you have.

I can’t even begin to express our gratitude and appreciation for all everyone at Kinetic Kids has done for J! (Especially Peter & Emily!) He has come farther, matured more, mastered skills, developed strategies, and grown so much more than we ever could have imagined. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We hope to see you around the neighborhood and will continue to recommend you with the highest praise to anyone we know looking for a great OT.

Thank you SO much for this detailed report and of course a HUGE thank you to Jenna. Jenna -You have been truly amazing with R and we have been blown away by his progress as well. I am so glad I listened to my mother's instinct and got R the help he needed. We will never forget this time with you and will never be able to thank you enough for how much you have helped R!!

Thank you both for the report and for all the support you and Jenna have given K this year. I truly appreciate the work you are doing.

Sophie is by far the best OT I have ever encountered. She is very thorough in her approach. In addition she is an absolutely lovely person! She has extensive knowledge and understanding of 2e kids.

I REALLY like Peter! He has a great personality and a very kind, gentle way about him. He is great with J.

C is like a changed child from when she started at kinetic kids.

Every professional that works with B gave me excellent feedback after our intensive with you in NY. He is much more regulated, falling asleep fast and alone and sleeping all night without waking up. It made a big difference in our family quality of life!Mom of B, 10 years old.
We cannot emphasize enough how lucky we are to be working with Erin! Our 15 month old daughter had been evaluated and treated by four pediatric OTs prior to Erin and we were feeling frustrated that we did not have a clear explanation of her sensory challenges nor a plan for addressing her seemingly difficult needs.
It was not until she started treatment with Erin that we were given a cohesive plan, a thorough understanding of her challenges and have already seen significant changes from the therapy. Erin truly “gets” our daughter. Upon meeting her, she immediately knew how to find a way to relate to her and engage her in treatment. Erin is highly knowledgeable and understanding of our daughter’s sensory processing difficulties and how they impact her daily functioning, particularly her eating patterns. Hence, Erin’s experience, expertise and training in both sensory processing and feeding therapy has been crucial for our daughter and has helped to form a comprehensive, uniquely tailored treatment plan to facilitate her progress and growth.
Erin’s sessions are both goal-oriented and fun, and she continually maintains a professional, gentle and enthusiastic demeanor throughout them. She is thoughtful in her explanations of how and why she is doing a certain task, and she teaches us exercises so that we can keep up the momentum throughout the week. We love how Erin shares in our excitement when our daughter makes a stride, which does not come easy. It is very obvious that Erin is extremely passionate about her work, which is shown through her dedication to our daughter’s needs.
She has been an integral part of our daughter’s treatment team. Her communication and collaboration with our other providers has been extremely helpful because it is so evident that sensory processing difficulties create obstacles in multiple areas of our daughter’s life. We feel confident that Erin’s early interventions will create a lasting and positive impact on our daughter’s life.

My son has made tremendous progress in just 5 or 6 months of OT work with Sophie Gusler. Motion sickness and travel anxiety were really impeding his ability to move around the city, so we engaged Sophie to address these challenges. She immediately established a rapport with my son (not always easy with tweens!). Sophie is fun loving and creative but also extremely organized and clear (with both parents and child) about why she is taking a certain approach to meet particular goals. Thanks to Sophie’s work on sensory processing and reflex integration, my son is now much more willing and able to ride the subway and take car trips, which has expanded his world and made him a happier kid overall.

With Erin’s patience, dedication and guidance our daughter has made been tremendous strides in a matter of months. Erin helped our daughter transform from a little girl with sensory and attention issues to a confident, happy and focused child. She she guided our daughter and family to learn tools to cope with her need for sensory input and in turn her behavior and happiness improved. She was creative In her approach and tried to tailor the therapy to our daughters interests and needs. She was able to motivate our daughter to work on her fine motor skills and found ways for her to try things that in the past she was frustrated to attempt. Erin understands how sensory issues impact home, school and everyday fine and gross motor tasks and helped us a family understand these impacts. She strives to not only work with the child but educate the family. We are beyond lucky to have Erin on our team and couldn’t imagine going through this experience without her!

Words cannot express how thankful we are for you. I tell you this all the time, but I truly believe you changed the course of G’s life (and mine, of course!). Everything that she had struggled with so much became so easy once she started working with you. You saw her deficits and targeted them so specifically, she was able to thrive beyond any measure I could have imagined. I don’t know what we would have done without you. You validated all of my concerns that everyone always brushed off, and because of that, G is now flourishing. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, we’ll miss coming to you every week! But I am so proud of how far G has come with your guidance. We appreciate you so much! You are amazing 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thank you for everything!!!

Having our tele therapy sessions with Erin has been invaluable as we brave the pandemic. We selected Erin based on her technical expertise and warm demeanor with children. Now we also value her adaptability which has allowed for adjusting sessions from in person to zoom. The work is just as effective and an added bonus is that we, the parents, are benefiting from the sessions as well. Participating and learning the exercises with our son has allowed us to become more attuned to our son’s needs and are better able to support his development.

We were very lucky to find Kinetic Kids OT sensory gym at the time when our son needed in-person OT services a lot. My son, who has sensory processing disorder, had inconsistent eye contact and problems with self-regulation, focus and transitioning between activities. He did not speak at 2.5 years when we started working with Erin and Sophie. Erin and Sophie performed thorough professional OT assessment followed by the discussion of its results with us. They set up clear goals, and constantly provided feedback and advice regarding my son’s performance. We did an intensive 2-months course, and we currently continue working in a gym once a week. The sessions are conducted in a very clean space with a lot of equipment and toys. Our child starts smiling the moment we enter the building where gym is located and transitions easily to and from the gym where he always plays with pleasure and has a lot of fun. Just after 2 months of working in a gym, we noticed a lot of progress with his speech and sensory issues - he has started
speaking and repeating a lot of words and phrases. His speech therapist is very pleased with how his speech is progressing. While he overresponded to tactile materials before therapy, now he can play with them without major adverse reactions. In
addition, he is able to better regulate his emotions, has improved with his transitions and is now able to shift from activities with less prompting. He makes much more consistent eye contact, references adults more, and is showing better attention and focus. He demonstrates improved safety awareness and moves more carefully since starting therapy. Last, but not least, he better transitioned to the daycare after the 6-months break, and his behavior improved a lot. We highly recommend the services provided by Erin and Sophie to the kids with any sensory issues and motor skills issues. We feel that our son benefits a lot from every minute spent with Erin and Sophie, they are both great professionals in what they are doing and are very nice and kind people.
I didn’t have the time to express how grateful I am for what Peter has done for M in such a small amount of time. M is so lucky to have him in his journey. Peter is a real human. So kind and warm, creative in his approach and style, playful, strong sense of observing M’s challenges and providing the right adjustment. His presence is therapeutic and loving for M. M is really progressing well. He is now connecting more to the space around him, smiling to others, paying more attention to puzzle or activities, stabilizing his body, transitioning better, verbalizing more, listening to instructions and understanding the consequences. We have continuous work to do and I’m so glad I chose your practice to help M achieve his OT goals.

My daughter loves going to see Sophie, she actually begs for longer sessions! Sophie does a wonderful job of tailoring OT sessions for maximum enjoyment and attainment of goals. In an OT world of different terminology and diagnoses, Sophie was so helpful explaining my daughter’s struggles and the specific steps OT sessions would follow to address these struggles. I also appreciate Sophie’s commitment to following up - consistently providing me with progress updates and checking in on progress at home. Sophie has helped my daughter increase her gross motor strength and confidence and the gym has become a place where she feels strong and happily herself.

I know I’m a broken record at this point, but now that we’re signing up for summer again I have to say THANK YOU. Contacting you was one of the luckiest decisions I’ve ever made. I was hoping that Nate would just start developing again, but Jenna’s amazing work with Nate has allowed his development to be in “turbo mode" the last year, and he’s developed more than I thought possible in many areas. (Obviously Jenna is part of a private team for N that has also been truly great, but Jenna’s clearly laid the foundation for the rest of them—N’s ABA therapy wasn’t nearly as effective before we began with her.) Jenna has also been so kind, caring, and open that it’s been easy to feel like a real partner in N’s development. You have my sincere thanks for letting us participate in this environment that is not only very helpful to kids, but helpful in a very warm way.
